Gallery Wall

We are proud to present an exhibition of iconic black and white photography on display here on Madison Avenue from the Peter Fetterman Gallery: http://www.peterfetterman.com/

Pictured below are some incredible works by world renowned photographers such as William Helburn, Bruce Davidson, Marc Riboud and Alfred Wertheimer among others.  Each piece is signed, dated, numbered and/or stamped by the artist. In this case we make sure to document this by photographing and mylar encapsulating this vital information and placing it on the back of the frame.

We have framed these pieces in equally strong black and white tall, thin gallery frames which disappear and allow the art to be the main focus. Utilizing this style, the wall and framing become a part of the background allowing the art to pop forward from the supporting wall.

We invite you to come to our Showroom to view these stunning works in person, and to consider purchasing one or more for your own collection.  We are located at 1069 Madison Avenue between 80th & 81st Streets, and we are open Monday through Saturday 10AM-6PM.

Detritus: Opening July 25th @ New York Framemakers

Please join us for the opening reception of Detritus, a two-person show featuring Daniel John Gadd and Elina Ansary.
Opening Reception Friday, July 25th
5pm-9pm
New York Framemakers
2642 Broadway
@100th
New York, NY

Detritus (noun):
1:  loose material that results directly from disintegration
2:  a product of disintegration, destruction, or wearing away :  debris
Artists Daniel John Gadd and Elina Ansary are linked by their shared use of debris as an art material. In each of their paintings, bits of thread and broken glass become sacred objects. Trash transforms into treasure; chaos into transcendence. As these two artists reach to capture transient moments, we are given a new and reverent view of the detritus of our everyday lives.

All the work in this show has been framed by the artists. These frames, handmade in our woodshop, are museum-grade and provide optimal preservation for this delicate body of work.

paton

Photographer Wendy Paton’s ‘Nuit Blanche’ at Sous Les Etoiles NYC

We are pleased to announce returning client and esteemed photographer Wendy Paton will be exhibiting her black and white silver gelatin print series, Nuit Blanche, from May 30th to July 11th at Soho’s Sous Les Etoiles Gallery. A recent publication of the works published by Kehrer Verlag under the title Visages de Nuit (Faces of Night) will be available for purchase and signing at the opening reception on Thursday May 30th, 6-8pm. In this series Paton has captured nocturnal scenes from unfamiliar settings, when she believes “people have the freedom to be as they wish”. We’ve very much enjoyed working with Wendy to preserve and display her craft in the most aesthetically enhancing way, and encourage all to view first-hand these expressive images at Sous Les Etoiles in the coming weeks.
